You can also have it plugged in to the charger at the same time. This is exactly what I was looking for to hold my iPhone. Simple, easy to use. I have an Audi and there is no dash or console space for a phone. The cup holder is perfect, especially for viewing the GPS & google maps while driving. The little suction cup holds the phone secure. You can even leave it attached and pick up the cup holder to use the iPhone.
Overall it does the job. More adjustability in the width is needed. I bought this since I like the iPod to be displayed when playing so I can see what's playing. I have a 7G iPod and 2009 Toyota Prius. Instead I have to deal with the suction cup. Before this I would let the iPod itself rest in the cupholder, but I didn't like its weight putting pressure on the connector cord, so this is obviously better. What I don't like: My cup holder is low, so I was hoping for more adjustability in the height.
It is a perfect fit for the iPod classic, and the hole at the bottom is wide enough to let the cord through.
A combination of the small cup and the rubber sheath makes it fit snugly in one of my cup-holders.
The more serious issue is that the suction cup just doesn't work.
The iPod is connected through Kensington LiquidAUX.
Would have been better if I could fit the iPod with a case.
It is very stable.
It is also easy to pick up when I'm done and hide in the armrest.
It would have been better for them to have lips around the horizontal arms to hold the ipod from falling.
Still, for the price ($4) it is not a bad purchase.
It's very annoying at times. It fits fine but if you try and put any other type of bottle/cup right next to it.
I was looking for a Cup holder cradle for my iPhone 3G.1. I own a Infiniti G35 Coupe.
I don't know if it's just my car but i haven't had a chance to test it with other car cup holders. The cradle is a tight fit for the iPhone if you have a iPhone case.2.
If you are going to be removing the device from the car often, you are gonna want to remove the suction cup that's attached to the cradle.3. It either doesn't fit or its very tight.
I'm sure the cup holders are wider is larger in vehicles like sedans and SUV's.Overall the product is decent.I'd recommend it to someone but i'd double check their cup holder setup.
Good product, works real well in the cup holder of the vehicle-Ipod or cell phone set real well in the holder. Turns at the base so you can direct it anyway you want. Reasonable price.
Specification on iPod and iPhone are very similar in terms of the dimension.I purchased this thinking that it will fit iPhone 3G, while it does fit with the naked iPhone, if you have any type of case on it, it will NOT fit.I exacerbated the crack on my iPhone case using this dock. It puts stress on the iPhone case, I don't recommend it for iPhone.
